The Broker
What is Signal Broker?
A Windows app with a second presence in your game: the Broker watches what you play, remembers what happened in the session, and speaks when he has something worth saying. He is a character, not an assistant: you do not type to him and he does not wait to be asked.
Is he an AI?
Yes. His observations, his words and his voice are generated by AI models from a third-party provider. No person is speaking. Like all generated content, a line can be wrong, odd or badly timed; that is part of what Founder Alpha is for.
Does he hear me or read my chat?
No. The app has no microphone input and no chat. Today he reacts to what he sees.
Which games work?
Any Windows game the app can capture: fullscreen, borderless or windowed. Some anti-cheat protected games refuse capture, and some exclusive-fullscreen games limit the overlay; the app says so when it happens. No general compatibility promise is made for Founder Alpha.
Why does he sometimes say nothing for a while?
Silence is a decision: he holds during cutscenes, dialogue and menus, and when nothing is worth a line. The Broker Bar shows LISTENING in that case. If the state is VOICE RECOVERING, his voice is reconnecting while he keeps watching.
Playing
Can I pause?
Yes. PAUSE holds the Broker without ending the session: he stops looking and speaking until you press RESUME. A paused session spends no Signal Time; a look or a line already under way when you pressed PAUSE may still be counted.
Can I switch games during a session?
No. There is no in-session game switching: to change game, STOP, choose the other game in the app, then START. The sequence takes a few seconds.
What are SPECTATOR and PLAYER?
The speech role. SPECTATOR comments on what he sees from the outside; PLAYER speaks as if he were sitting beside you. Neither role claims to control your game. You can change it before a session or while it runs.
Can I use him on stream or in recordings?
Yes. Capture the game and the transparent OBS Browser overlay; his voice comes through Desktop Audio. Tell your audience that the commentary is AI-generated. See the setup guide.
What are the requirements?
A 64-bit Windows PC with Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) or Windows 11, an audio output and an internet connection. Full requirements travel with each build.
Signal Time, trial and pricing
What is Signal Time and how is it counted?
Signal Time is metered from the Broker’s managed AI work — every look at your game and every spoken line — rather than simply the elapsed time of your gameplay session. Your account shows usage and remaining balance.
- Looks and lines. Each time he looks at your game and each time he speaks, the service meters the seconds that piece of work took, rounded up to the next whole second.
- Not the clock on the wall. A session that is open but in which nothing is being produced does not spend Signal Time. Quiet stretches are not charged just for being open.
- Held, settled or released. Each piece of work holds time while it runs; the service then settles what it took or, for work it confirms as failed, releases it back to your balance. Work whose outcome is still being confirmed stays held until the service can settle or release it.
- Paused is not spending. While a session is paused he neither looks nor speaks, and no Signal Time is spent; a look or a line already under way when you pressed PAUSE may still be counted.
- One balance. Your account, the app and the Broker Bar read the same balance. The app warns you at one minute and at fifteen seconds.
Is there a free trial?
Try Signal Broker with 30 Signal Minutes free — exactly 1,800 Signal Seconds. No subscription, purchase or card required. Claim through your account if eligible. Already-claimed accounts keep their remaining balance and cannot claim again. The trial does not auto-convert to paid. Signal Time is Broker usage, not wall-clock gameplay duration. Get the app from Download and read the unsigned-build notice before opening it.
What does Founder Alpha cost?
Founder Alpha is $19.95 a month and includes 5 Signal Hours per paid billing period. Included hours do not roll over: unused included time expires at the end of the paid period, and each renewal brings a fresh 5 Signal Hours. Additional Signal Time is $4.99 per Signal Hour; hours you buy do not expire, and cancelling your membership does not remove them. Prices are in US dollars and payments are processed by Stripe. Founder Alpha is available to US customers through Plan & Billing.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel renewal any time in Plan & Billing: you keep access and your included time until the end of the paid period, and hours you bought stay on your account. Within 14 days of a purchase you can withdraw and pay only for the Signal Time you used. Read Signal Time, cancellation and refunds and review the versioned purchase terms shown at checkout.
Privacy and account
What leaves my PC?
While a session runs, frames of the game you chose and the session context go to the Signal Broker service and on to its AI provider. Frames are processed in memory and are not stored by the service; his observations and lines are kept for a limited time. Nothing is captured outside a session and the app has no microphone. Details: privacy.
How do I delete my account or my data?
Email dimudin.com@gmail.com from the email you sign in with. Self-service deletion is not available yet; the request is handled by a person.
Why Google sign-in only?
The service accepts Google identities during the pilot; email-and-password sign-in appears automatically when it is enabled. Signal Broker never stores your password either way.
